Welcome to Katikati Cricket Club

Katikati Cricket Club (KKCC) is located in Katikati, the northern hub of cricket in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand.

The Club’s home is the picturesque Uretara Domain where cricket was established in the area back in the late 1800′s.

KKCC aims to provide at least one team across every age group, providing coaching and matches from age 4 upwards.

Our Club currently fields 11 junior and 2 senior teams, giving pathways that can provide cricket throughout an active life.

Katikati Junior Cricket Newsletter September 2016

Hello everyone, especially our College, Intermediate and Junior cricket players,

A new season of cricket is fast approaching and we look forward to seeing all last year’s players returning and hopefully many new ones too!

We expect to have teams entered in the Year 3 & 4 grade, Year 5 & 6 grade, Intermediate (all these grades play on Saturday mornings) and Junior College grade (afternoons). This year’s Junior College grade team will no doubt be aiming to become our College 1st X1 team in the very near future.

Some useful information:

Katikati Cricket teams train at Katikati College and Katikati Primary School. Cricket games usually start in the first weekend of November for Term 4 and when school resumes in Term 1. Practices start a few weeks prior. Coaches organise practice days with their teams. Practices occur after school for approximately 1.5 – 2 hrs. Players are expected to be wearing appropriate clothes to train in and must wear shoes.

We also are providing 8 weeks of trainings for those new to cricket, mainly Year 1 to 3 assisted by Bay of Plenty cricket which will occur on Fridays.

We are lucky to have some very good coaches at Katikati Cricket Club (all with cricketing backgrounds and experience). Current coaches are Neil Harray, Craig Pooley, Les McGann, Simon Turnbull, Nic Millichip, Richard Hurst, Brody Gilroy and Ben Warren, all coaching and assisting with teams. Many of our Coaches have Level 1 and 2 Coaching qualifications. We are also looking for an Intermediate Coach this season.
